Fears grow over oil spill disaster



AlJazeeraEnglish — May 01, 2010 — The growing oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico is threatening to become the worst US environmental disaster in decades.

According to the US government, more than six million litres of oil have poured into the sea since April 20 when the Deepwater Horizon oil rig exploded and then sank.

Al Jazeera's Tom Ackerman reports from Venice Lousiana as US coastal communities brace for the full impact of the spill.
